Low energy substrates where energy is known but Consolidation, Sediment texture and Structural macrobiota are unknown. Typically habitats away from high energy beaches and creek/river mouths in greater than 30 metres.

The Naturalness qualifier may be relevant as these areas may be subject to trawling.

Distribution

This type was created to deal with very deep areas where there was no mapping of either consolidation, sediment texture or biota. Likely to be outside channels on gentle slopes or flats.

Comments

May not exist as a type in this typology version based on available information, which is restricted to wave energy. Application of the Energy source attribute in a typology combining both wave and current energy datasets to produce a dataset reflecting seabed stress would result in a mappable type if an extra attribute was used (i.e. Consolidation) and this was used to split unconsolidated types. Consider Terrain morphology if bathymetry is sufficiently high resolution.
