Data Lineage
Lineage statement, a general explanation
Wildlife records of valid, in situ taxa with a location precision not greater than 5000 metres from the Queensland Government's WildNet database are aggregated on taxon_id to a 10km x 10km spatial grid of Queensland and the number of records per taxon_id summed. Additional taxonomic attributes are joined to the aggregated data on taxon_id.
The output includes the following fields – grid_id, taxon_id, records, kingdom, class, family, scientific_name, common_name, taxon_author, NCA_status (Nature Conservation Act 1992 status), EPBC_status (Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 status), significant (Conservation significant) and endemicity.
Codes for NCA_status, EPBC_status and Endemicity are available as a dataset via the Queensland Open Data portal.
