The Wet Tropics World Heritage Area lies between Townsville and Cooktown on the north-east coast of Queensland and covers an area of approximately 8940m^2. The area is composed of mostly public land, the majority of which is held in national park tenure. For the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area the areas defined in this dataset are based on the 1:50000 scale WTQ plans drafted in 1991-92. The areas in this dataset were realigned to current cadastral information published 5 September 2022.
Data are derived by digital cadastre at the time of inscription, and potentially updated as required to reflect improvements in boundary accuracy.
