Contains the boundaries and names of the Queensland Drainage Basins, as defined by Australian Water Resources Management Committee (WRMC). Information includes the name and number of each drainage basin. The capture scale for this dataset is 1:100 000
Unrestricted to all levels of government and community. Dataset is available to all government agencies, community groups and individuals. Dataset is available through physical supply and may be made available via web delivery tools, for example, through DNRM's internet sites.
Information from `Gauging Station Catchments - Queensland`: Boundaries were plotted with 1:250 000 drainage as a background. Visual checks were then made to ensure that no drainage lines crossed the Basin Boundary lines. All errors were corrected

Information from `Gauging Station Catchments - Queensland`: These boundaries were determined by using 1:100 000 topo mapping over Queensland. Copies of unpublished 1: 100 000 topo maps were used in this exercise. Interpretation of the boundaries was checked both manually and by computer. Use at capture scale ( 1:100 000) or greater

Description
Abstract
To be used for the wetland inventory/Coastal Catchments project
Subcatchments of the Burdekin basin, with the purpose of creating a wetland inventory per subcatchment for the CCI project. This layer has been created by grouping subcatchments from the Burdekin subcatchment layer from the BDTNRM, to fit within a broad subcatchment classification developed by ACTFR/BDTNRM. The goal was to create approximately 50 subcatchment of similar size, which do not cross the broad subactchment classification (Upper Burdekin, Central Burdekin, Cape River, Belyando-Suttor and Bowen Broken subcatchments)

Lineage
Data was created from smaller watercourse catchments digitisied from 1:100,000 topographic relief.
Positional Accuracy
Accuracy is relative to errors outlined in marginal information of original 1:100,000 topographic mapping. Further error was introduced during georeferencing of scanned topographic mapping. Data is intented to be used as a planning and aggregation tool and not for direct ground application. Use with assumed error of +/-50m
