Other name/sNone DescriptionTrapezoidal fishways are relatively untested in Australia. Trapezoidal fishways have been used for fish passage in North America and recently in New South Wales and South Australia, following extensive physical and computer modelling[2]. Trapezoidal fishways are like a pool-type fishway with a straight channel divided into pools with weirs. Many trapezoidal fishways are modified vertical slot fishways. The goal of the new trapezoidal fishway is to separate the migration corridor from the energy dissipation zone to ensure a low turbulence, vortex free area, which improves upstream migration performance[1]. A trapezoidal fishway was installed at the low entrance to the Loudoun Weir vertical-slot fishway on the Condamine River Queensland[2]. References
