Summary

This project targets groundsel (Baccharis halimifolia), on the south western region of Fraser Island in the Great Sandy Strait Ramsar site. Other weed species may be encountered during control programs including mile-a-minute (Ipomoea cairica) and Singapore daisy (sphagneticola trilobata). Opportunistic control of these species will be included in the program. Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service manage the project, including engaging a contractor for on-ground works.

  • Improved habitat of World Heritage Fraser Island and Great Sandy Strait Ramsar Wetland.
