Summary

This project aims to undertake on-ground works to improve the quality and condition of the Texas Lagoon. Activities will include planting 400 trees, erecting a 6.5km fence to exclude stock and establishing water points for stock.

Benefits

The re-vegetation work that will occur through this project will:
  • increase biodiversity habitat
  • increase shading along the lagoon (reducing evaporation)
  • decrease siltation in the lagoon
  • reduce soil erosion
  • increase the water quality.
